Thoth Excerpt

I turn to the empty space beside me and watch a form coalesce. A figure only I can see. Joggers and cyclists pass by and to them I am alone. I know I am anything but. He has the head and wings of a black ibis and the body of a man. Whether he is real or imaginary is of little concern. His form shimmers and shifts like vapour. He is welcome company, his words as wise as they are perceptive. He speaks to my heart. Perhaps he is my heart? I know that I know nothing with any certainty.

  1. Hello. I found this image on Pinterest and had to click through a few hyper links to finally find the person behind it, but I just wanted to take the opportunity to say to you personally that I love this image and that I want to use it as inspiration for a tattoo idea that I have been wanting to get for a while now. I feel very connected to Thoth and this image just shot out at me! The tattoo I’m hoping to get is going to be in black and white with Thoth in thick clouds in the sky like he is the moon himself as it rest upon his head piece his body fading beneath the clouds as the light from the mood dims the further from the direct light the thick clouds around become. I am just hoping that you will not be upset that I am using a part of your design as inspiration and part of my tattoo. I can not draw to save my life lol. But I believe this image fits what I see in my mind and with your blessing I’d love to have it as part of me forever. Because he is a huge part of me!

    • Hi Adonis, I’m very glad you like my image of Thoth. Yes, you may use it as your inspiration for a tattoo. I would love to see a photo of the tattoo once it is done and for you to consider making a donation of your choice to my PayPal (janice.duke@hotmail.co.uk) for use of my work if you wish. May Thoth bless you.
